Current Trends in APP and the Impact on Physician Practices and Compensation

According to data published in June 2021 by the Association of American Medical Colleges, the United States could see an estimated shortage of between 37,800 and 124,000 physicians by 2034, including shortfalls in both primary and specialty care. In this webinar, hosted by the American Association of Provider Compensation Professionals (AAPCP), KSM’s Brad Reay will discuss the growing use of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) in varying types of clinical practices and how organizations are recognizing the value for physician supervision efforts. He will also discuss the treatment of such supervisory services compensation from a FMV perspective.

Topics will include a cursory review of incident-to and split-share rules, collaboration agreements, and whether the laws regulating independent APP practice have adapted to current care delivery models amid greater provider utilization in a telehealth environment.
