2024 Vision Award Winners

Congratulations to the winners of the 2024 KSM Vision Awards! These awards, now in their sixth year, recognize KSMers whose work inside and outside of KSM exemplifies excellence in one of the three pillars of our Vision – People, Clients, and Community.

Nominations were solicited from all employees, and the winners were selected by a committee consisting of partners and firm leaders. The four deserving honorees were announced during a December all-firm virtual meeting.

Inspiring People Winner: Josey Seabolt

The Inspiring People Vision Award recognizes employees who are champions and leaders of our people. The criteria for this award include championing people initiatives and programs, spending a significant amount of time developing people, and inspiring KSM and our people to be better through courageous feedback, innovative ideas, and diversity of thought.

Congratulations to Josey Seabolt, winner of the Inspiring People Award!

Josey was nominated by four colleagues, including Trevor Scharpenberg, a manager in KSM’s Business Advisory Group, for her steadfast dedication to helping colleagues thrive and excel. As a natural mentor, she empowers her team with thoughtful guidance, using her expertise to encourage their growth. Building on this foundation, her forward-thinking ideas have cultivated a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within her team. Complementing her professional strengths, Josey’s positivity and humor shine through in moments when they are needed most, creating a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere. Her dedication to inclusivity further bolsters her impact, as she fosters an environment where diverse perspectives are both welcomed and valued. This collaborative approach not only builds trust but also inspires others to embrace new challenges and step outside their comfort zones.

Client Service Excellence Winner: Jake Sciaudone

The Stewart Glassman Client Service Excellence Vision Award recognizes employees for outstanding internal or external client service. The criteria for this award include making an effort to provide a consistently outstanding experience for clients that clearly stands out as going above and beyond, demonstrating tremendous tenacity and commitment in helping resolve a major client issue, and receiving an abundance of unsolicited feedback from inside and outside the firm that the nominee consistently exceeded expectations. The Client Service Excellence Vision Award was recently renamed to honor our New York office’s late partner Stewart Glassman, who was renowned for his outstanding client service and devotion to his clients.

Congratulations to Jake Sciaudone, winner of the Stewart Glassman Client Service Excellence Award!

Jake was nominated by Mark Bernstein, a partner in KSM’s Real Estate Services Group, for his exceptional dedication to delivering outstanding client service. His proactive approach stands out, as he consistently anticipates client needs and develops innovative solutions tailored to their unique challenges. This dedication is reinforced by his deep industry knowledge and attention to detail, which ensure that clients receive comprehensive, accurate, and timely support. Under his leadership, KSM’s cost segregation practice has achieved significant growth, doubling both the number of reports completed and the revenue generated in 2024. Beyond his technical expertise, Jake’s ability to foster strong relationships contributes to his overall success. By listening intently, communicating effectively, and going the extra mile, he continues to exceed client expectations and strengthen the trust that defines his work.

Community Service Excellence Winners: Ben Phillips and Corey McSweeney

The Community Service Excellence Vision Award recognizes employees who are pillars and leaders in the community. The criteria for this award include investing a considerable amount of time and effort in representing KSM in the community on boards and/or committees, and significantly contributing to and moving a civic organization forward by enhancing the organization’s mission and positively impacting the community.

Congratulations to Ben Phillips and Corey McSweeney, winners of the Community Service Excellence Award!

Ben was nominated by Jenina Cody, a marketing and growth advisor for KSM’s marketing team, for the meaningful impact he’s made in the community. He devotes his time to volunteering with local organizations focused on increasing the representation of women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and providing underserved students with opportunities to explore STEM careers. Beyond his volunteer work, Ben motivates his colleagues to step outside their comfort zones, embrace leadership roles, and contribute to community initiatives. His efforts have deepened his connection with the community while advancing the vision of a more inclusive and impactful STEM sector.

Corey was nominated by Sarah Schenkel, a partner in KSM’s Fort Wayne office and a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance Services Group, for his extraordinary dedication to serving the community. A Fort Wayne native, Corey actively supports initiatives that provide scholarships for underserved students and resources for individuals facing significant health challenges. His involvement reflects a deep commitment to creating meaningful change and strengthening the community he calls home. Beyond his own contributions, Corey is a strong advocate for young professionals joining boards and committees. He has inspired six senior and associate auditors to engage with local organizations, helping them connect with causes they care about.
