Beyond COVID-19: Recovery Tools, Capital Access, and Planning Strategies for Indiana Manufacturers
As the economy begins to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, manufacturers are scrambling to catch up, keep up, and get ahead. On this webinar, professionals from Katz, Sapper & Miller, Conexus Indiana, and KSM Location Advisors discuss recovery tools, capital access points, and tax planning strategies Indiana manufacturers should consider as they seek to move forward in the latter half of 2021, including:
- Indiana’s Manufacturing Readiness Grants – Originally launched at the beginning of the pandemic as part of Indiana’s economic stabilization efforts, this program has been extended by the Indiana General Assembly and is still available to Hoosier manufacturers. Mitch Landess, vice president of innovation and digital transformation at Conexus Indiana, the state’s accelerator and promoter of advanced manufacturing, covers the nuts and bolts of the program and the benefits it can provide.
- State and Local Economic Incentives Programs – From grants that offset the cost of training employees to tax credits that encourage capital investment and job creation, there are many economic incentives available at both the state and local levels to help Indiana manufacturers. Katie Culp, CEO of national site selection firm KSM Location Advisors, discusses what incentives programs are available, who qualifies, and how they can be maximized.
- Tax Planning Strategies – Beginning with the Trump administration’s economic recovery legislation and running through President Biden’s most recent “Build Back Better Plan,” there are a plethora of tax provisions and upcoming tax proposals impacting the manufacturing industry. KSM senior tax partner, Ryan Miller, sheds light on which provisions and proposals Hoosier manufacturers should pay closest attention to.
