Ellis Recognized Among Forbes Top 200 CPAs in America

INDIANAPOLIS – Katz, Sapper & Miller (KSM), a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that KSM COO and Partner Jamie Ellis has earned a spot on Forbes’ inaugural list of America’s Top 200 CPAs. This exclusive list highlights the nation’s most exemplary CPAs with impressive track records in their specialties.

Ellis, who has served as KSM’s COO since 2012, leads a team of operations leaders whose purpose is to align and optimize KSM’s resources and capabilities with the firm’s strategic direction. Prior to joining KSM, he served as corporate controller for a subsidiary of a national staffing firm, the chief financial officer of a regional CPA firm, and the chief operating officer of a regional law firm.

Curated by Forbes’ editorial staff, the list was compiled from a wide pool of candidates nominated independently and recognized through various societies and associations of CPAs. Eligible candidates were evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria including professional achievements, influence in the profession, community involvement, thought leadership, and innovation and technology adoption.

In addition to his leadership role at KSM, Ellis has a deep passion for contributing his time and talents to support other CPA firms and the accounting industry as a whole. Since 2015, he has served on both the North America and World board of directors, as well as Chair of North America, for PrimeGlobal, a network of more than 300 independent member accounting firms in over 112 countries. Ellis also serves as chair of the American Lung Association (ALA) in Indiana and as a board member for the American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest. During his tenure with ALA in Indiana, Ellis helped the organization raise more than $4 million through its annual gala, with 90% of the funds going directly toward lung research.
