Former Duke Realty Alumni Join KSM’s Real Estate Services Group

INDIANAPOLIS – Katz, Sapper & Miller, a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that Stephanie York and Matt Milligan, former Duke Realty* employees, have joined the firm in its Real Estate Services Group.

Stephanie York

York brings more than 20 years of experience to KSM. As a director who specializes in Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) compliance and complex partnership tax returns, she will help the firm’s real estate clients minimize exposure and maximize tax savings opportunities.

York previously served as a senior tax manager for Duke Realty Corp., where she supervised REIT and property operations tax compliance; coordinated shareholder reporting; assisted with state tax audits; and more. During her tenure, she helped manage the annual REIT distribution requirements through tax planning and like-kind exchange transactions. Her background also includes three years serving as a staff accountant for a top 10 accounting firm.

Matt Milligan

Milligan will also work closely with KSM’s real estate clients, helping them identify opportunities for growth while simultaneously ensuring compliance and mitigating risk. Like York, he is experienced in real estate partnerships and REITs.

Prior to joining KSM, Milligan served as a tax manager for Duke Realty Corp., where he focused on partnership and REIT tax compliance, as well as tax planning, research, and projections. During his more than 15 years with Duke, Milligan helped support the planning and implementation of tax deferral strategies, including real estate like-kind exchange transactions, which reduced REIT special dividend distribution requirements.
