Horvath, McNeely, Schenkel Honored by INCPAS
INDIANAPOLIS – KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller), a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that Amanda Horvath, Andy McNeely, and Sarah Schenkel have been honored as winners and finalists for the 2024 Indiana CPA Society (INCPAS) Awards. The awards recognize outstanding individuals and organizations within the CPA profession.
Amanda Horvath, director in KSM’s Technical Accounting Advisory Services Group, was selected as the INCPAS Volunteer of the Year Award winner. The award honors an individual who has gone above and beyond to serve INCPAS in volunteer roles. Horvath was selected for her pivotal work as a member of the INCPAS Government Relations Advisory Council and Leadership Council. She has been instrumental in shaping the legislative agenda for the CPA profession in Indiana, participating in Board of Accountancy meetings, and advocating for key legislation. Additionally, Horvath mentors aspiring CPAs, connects them with INCPAS resources, and shares her expertise at conferences such as the INCPAS Not-for-Profit Conference.
Andy McNeely, director in KSM’s Audit & Assurance Services Group, was named a finalist for the Emerging Leaders Award. The award honors up-and-coming leaders in the CPA profession under age 35. McNeely was recognized for his exemplary leadership within KSM, where he mentors colleagues, leads training sessions on new technologies, and excels in managing complex client portfolios. He is also a leader in KSM’s remote employee resource group, setting a standard for effective and inspiring remote work practices.
Sarah Schenkel, director in KSM’s Fort Wayne office and a member of the firm’s Audit & Assurance Services Group, was named a finalist for the Women to Watch Award. The award honors outstanding long-time and up-and-coming women within the CPA profession. Schenkel was recognized for her impactful leadership at KSM and her significant contributions to the Fort Wayne community. At KSM, she drives mentorship and leadership initiatives, helping the Fort Wayne office double in size since her arrival. She also plays a key role as board treasurer for Erin’s House for Grieving Children, managing its finances and supporting its $2.5 million capital campaign. Additionally, her service on the Indiana Board of Accountancy reflects her dedication to shaping the future of the CPA profession statewide.
Horvath, McNeely, and Schenkel, along with other award winners and finalists, were honored at INCPAS’ annual awards program in downtown Indianapolis on Nov. 22. The event also celebrated Indiana’s High Grade Award winners, including KSM’s Haley Polk and Natalie Sell, who achieved top 10 cumulative scores statewide on the CPA exam.
