Jimmy W. Burnett Joins KSM as Managing Director, Healthcare Operations Performance Alignment
INDIANAPOLIS – Katz, Sapper & Miller, a leading consulting, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that Jimmy W. Burnett has joined the firm as managing director of healthcare operations performance alignment in its Healthcare Resources Group.
Having spent more than 25 years leading healthcare operational transformation, Burnett brings deep experience working with large, integrated healthcare delivery systems, both as a consultant and as a healthcare executive. His expertise includes driving operational efficiencies and growth, navigating integrated healthcare systems’ physician enterprise, and revenue cycle redesign and enhancement. At KSM, Burnett will help hospitals and employed physician groups optimize supply chains, improve revenue cycle management, and implement integrated physician models. Burnett’s career spans leadership roles with hospital systems, healthcare technology startups, and consulting firms. Additionally, clinical experience early in his career gives him an insider’s perspective on challenges healthcare organizations face.
“A well-rounded and innovative leader, Jimmy brings an impressive depth and breadth of healthcare experience to our team,” said Steve Warner, Healthcare Resources Group partner-in-charge. “He shares our values and commitment to a high level of client service, and we’re thrilled to welcome him to KSM.”
With the hire of Burnett, KSM continues to invest in its suite of healthcare solutions. In August 2020, KSM hired George Batalis to lead and grow its healthcare consulting practice into a full-service, multi-faceted provider offering. KSM’s healthcare consulting services are complemented by the firm’s healthcare tax and accounting services and fair market value and valuations.
“I’m honored to join KSM and look forward to parlaying my experience into innovative solutions for the firm’s healthcare clients, as well as helping to expand its growing healthcare consulting practice,” said Burnett.
Prior to joining the firm, Burnett was a partner with national consulting firm Guidehouse (formerly Navigant), where he oversaw the physician enterprise solutions business unit. In this role, he led large multi-service line transformation projects, including operational improvement and revenue cycle initiatives. At Guidehouse, Burnett was also involved with corporate diversity and inclusion initiatives and served on the firm’s diversity council. Other career highlights include leading the day-to-day operations of a 100-plus person multi-specialty medical group with diverse operations, including pharmacy, an imaging center, and physical therapy departments; achieving a turnaround and restructure of the operations for a national physician service center within a large healthcare company; and directing a multi-state restructure and start-up of a regional management services organization (MSO).
Burnett earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lipscomb University. He will be based in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
