Katherine Malarsky Named an IBJ 2023 Woman of Influence
INDIANAPOLIS – Katz, Sapper & Miller, a leading advisory, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that Katherine Malarsky, a partner in its Tax Services Group, has been named an Indianapolis Business Journal 2023 Woman of Influence. This list recognizes women who have risen to the highest levels of business, the arts, and community and public service in central Indiana.
Malarsky was selected for demonstrating professional excellence and leadership within her field, as a champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and as a dedicated community volunteer and mentor. At KSM, Malarsky applies her knowledge as an internal resource for the firm’s tax and business advisors and assists companies and individuals in navigating the complexities of doing business internationally, including some of the firm’s largest clients. Previously, Malarsky spent seven years at a Big Four firm, where she honed her expertise in international tax.
Beyond her professional achievements, Malarsky stands as a powerful advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). She has played a pivotal role in spearheading KSM’s DEI efforts, with the goal of ensuring KSM is inclusive of and equitable for all.
Outside of KSM, Malarsky volunteers for a number of nonprofit and charitable organizations. She serves on the board of directors for Child Advocates, where she holds the roles of both president and treasurer. Additionally, Malarsky is a 500 Circle member and mentor for Pass The Torch For Women Foundation; volunteers with The Julian Center; and regularly participates in fundraising events for organizations such as Teachers’ Treasures, the Westfield Education Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, and the Assistance League.
In 2019, she received KSM’s prestigious Inspiring People Award, which recognizes an employee who is a champion and leader of KSM’s people.
“This recognition is a testament to Katherine’s commitment and leadership in the area of diversity, equity, and inclusion; as well as her contributions to KSM, the accounting field, and the central Indiana community,” said Tim Cook, KSM CEO and president. “Her dedication is a reminder of the difference one person can make.”
