Kevin Newingham Joins KSM as a Director of Healthcare Consulting
INDIANAPOLIS – Katz, Sapper & Miller, a leading consulting, tax, and audit firm, is pleased to announce that Kevin Newingham has joined the firm as a director of healthcare consulting in its Healthcare Resources Group.
Having worked for more than 20 years in strategic and operational healthcare planning and implementation at an executive level, Newingham brings deep experience working with healthcare providers in the continually evolving healthcare landscape. His expertise includes developing and administering value-based care arrangements, driving alignment and integration between health systems and physicians, and delivering cutting-edge yet practical solutions that connect business and financial goals with enhanced clinical outcomes. At KSM, Newingham will put this expertise to work for clients as he helps hospital systems and physician groups develop innovative strategies in the areas of hospital and physician alignment, value-based care initiatives, and mergers and acquisitions.
“We’re thrilled to have Kevin join our team,” said George Batalis, managing director of healthcare consulting. “As a former hospital executive, Kevin has an insider’s perspective that gives him a deep understanding of our clients’ needs. His mix of experience, depth of knowledge, and operational know-how will undoubtedly serve our clients well.”
With the hire of Newingham, KSM continues to invest in its suite of healthcare solutions. Batalis joined KSM in August 2020 to lead and grow its healthcare consulting practice into a full-service, multi-faceted provider offering. Since then he’s made several key hires who bring deep healthcare strategy, operations, and consulting experience. KSM’s healthcare consulting services are complemented by the firm’s healthcare tax and accounting services and fair market value and valuation services.
“I’m excited to join KSM and to have the opportunity to assist our clients during such a pivotal time in the healthcare industry,” Newingham said. “Many factors, including COVID-19, will impact healthcare providers for years to come, and it will be gratifying to help position clients to successfully navigate the future.”
Prior to joining the firm, Newingham served as a director for Pinnacle Healthcare Consulting, where he helped guide healthcare providers in developing strategic business plans. His experience included advising clients on a diverse array of mergers and acquisitions, guiding the planning of accountable care organizations, and developing performance improvement strategies for value-based care arrangements. As the chief strategy officer for Lee Health, a hospital system located in Fort Myers, Florida, Kevin led the development and implementation of strategies focused on transforming patient care delivery to a coordinated model that emphasized chronic disease management, prevention, and wellness.
Newingham earned both a B.A. in history and political science and a M.A. in health services administration from the University of Illinois. He will be based in Orlando, Florida.
