KSM at 75 Years: Celebrating Our Past and Defining Our Future
Celebrating an anniversary is a notable milestone for any company, but a 75th anniversary is a monumental one. When Katz, Sapper & Miller was established in 1942, it was a single office with only two employees. Since then, the firm has steadfastly continued its commitment to its clients, people, and communities, and has grown to a nationally ranked firm with four offices and more than 400 employees.
As we celebrate Katz, Sapper & Miller’s 75th anniversary this year, we pause to remember our past, acknowledging those who have made KSM what it is today, and to look toward our future, one we think is blindingly bright with possibilities.
Remembering Our Past
As part of celebrating our 75th anniversary, our team members and alumni gathered on June 8 at the Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, IN to honor the past successes and accomplishments of the firm. The day recognized stalwarts who contributed greatly to the firm’s evolution and culture, including tributes to Irv Katz, Ted Sapper, and Curt Miller, who serves as KSM’s current chairman, is a 55-year veteran of the firm, and was managing partner for 25 years. Indiana CPA Society President and CEO Gary Bolinger, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard, and other nationally recognized speakers joined the event to help commemorate the day.
By looking back over the years, we recognized and honored how our firm developed, encountering new obstacles and overcoming them. But much of KSM’s success is attributed to our clients; we are truly humbled and honored that as the firm has grown, our clients have grown with us. Meaningful and engaging client relationships remain a key pillar of who we are, and working together as one team to serve clients, enabling them to do great things, is a great privilege. Seeing what our clients have been able to achieve has inspired and motivated us to be better.
Looking Toward Our Future
Building on the same foundational principles that led to the first 75 years of success, we have set a vision for the future that will not only continue to uphold who we have been, but will allow us to move forward as one team – together with our clients and our communities – toward the next 75 years.
So what does that mean? It means that we remain committed to serving our clients well, putting them first, and enabling their success by proactively working to find future-focused solutions to their complex challenges. It means that we will continue to give back to the community, whether it is donating time or money, and that our people will continue to lend a hand to others. And it means that we will not stop. We are just as committed now as ever before to developing strong and lasting relationships, earning and maintaining trust, going the extra mile, exceeding expectations, generating innovative ideas, and working together to enable our clients, our people, and our communities to achieve their very best.
Taking all we have learned over the past 75 years, we face the future with inspired resolve to make a positive difference for our clients, people, and communities.
