Amy Zimmer is a director in KSM’s State & Local Tax Group. Amy specializes in multistate income tax compliance and consulting for businesses and their owners. Her assistance in these projects includes negotiating and implementing voluntary disclosure agreements, negotiating settlements with taxing jurisdictions, coordinating multistate tax research, and assisting with complex multistate tax compliance.

Amy’s experience with state and local taxes in all 50 states enables her to keep clients informed of the ever-changing tax laws and guide them in the right direction as they address the complex issues that emerge on both the state and local levels. Amy serves clients in a multitude of industries, including transportation, manufacturing and distribution, financial services, technology, retail, healthcare, and more.

Prior to joining KSM, Amy worked for seven years at a Big Four firm, where her experience included audit and assurance, general tax compliance, and multistate and local compliance.

I believe in treating others how you want to be treated. While you think of the “Golden Rule” as something you learn in childhood, this principle is also very relevant when interacting with others as an adult and in the workplace.

Amy received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Ball State University.

Amy serves as co-chair of PrimeGlobal’s State & Local (SALT) Community of Practice (COP) Group. Additionally, she serves as treasurer on the leadership board for Taylor University Football Families (TUFF).

In 2021, Amy was presented with KSM’s Inspiring People Award, which recognizes employees who are champions and leaders of the firm’s people.
