Angie Monahan is a partner in KSM’s State & Local Tax Group. Angie educates multistate clients on the plethora of tax rules in all 50 states, helping them find tax efficiencies while complying with obligations, maximizing opportunities, and reducing risk along the way. She also consults on strategies and structures to manage state and local tax positions. Whether dealing with a pending or closed transaction or internal legal entity restructuring, Angie has developed specialized expertise in designing, managing, and implementing solutions to minimize state income tax.
Angie frequently represents clients in tax controversies, including presenting written and oral arguments to administrative appeals boards and counseling during state and local audits. She also has deep expertise in state income tax nexus and related sales sourcing methodologies. Additionally, Angie serves a technical specialist for the firm’s Transaction Advisory Services Group.
Angie received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Indiana University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
Angie is a member in good standing of the Illinois Bar and a member of the Indiana State Bar Association Taxation Section. She is an active volunteer and dedicated supporter of the Isaiah 117 House, an organization committed to transforming the foster care experience.
