James Pillischafske is a manager in Katz, Sapper & Miller’s Real Estate Services Group and serves as lead engineer with the firm’s cost segregation practice. A civil engineer by training, James applies his knowledge of construction methods, practices, and estimating techniques to help KSM clients reduce income taxes by identifying components of real estate eligible for accelerated tax depreciation.
Prior to joining the firm, James worked for a large construction manager and general contractor that focuses on complex commercial building projects.
James graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He is a licensed professional engineer.
James is a volunteer and member of the Young Professionals Council of Best Buddies Indiana and is involved with EDGE Mentoring, a group mentoring program designed to sharpen the influence and impact of emerging leaders. Additionally, James has served as a mentor through Arsenal Technical High School’s ACE Mentor Program, which inspires students to pursue careers in design and construction. He is an active volunteer at Traders Point Christian Church.
