Sandy Klein is managing partner of KSM’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Real Estate Services Group. In his role, Sandy collaborates with KSM leadership to strengthen the firm’s presence in the region.
With more than four decades of experience in public accounting, Sandy is a seasoned veteran in the real estate industry. He leverages a diverse range of skills to address his clients’ needs, including extensive experience across all facets of real estate; a deep understanding of individual, partnership, and corporate taxation; and a commitment to meaningful client engagement at every stage of the real estate process. Sandy’s unique blend of expertise is especially valuable in an industry where tax-driven decisions are critical. With his broad perspective and a focus on long-term outcomes, Sandy provides strategic guidance tailored to the complex needs of real estate clients.
Sandy regularly contributes articles to the New York Real Estate Journal and has lectured extensively on tax and business matters impacting the real estate sector. He has also shared insights on key industry topics in various forums, including discussions on real estate trends and tax considerations for investors.
Prior to joining KSM, Sandy was a prominent leader at Shanholt Glassman Klein Kramer & Co., one of New York’s premier firms serving the real estate community. His background also includes two years spent with a boutique real estate accounting firm.
Sandy received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in accounting from Baruch College.
Sandy is a member of the New York State Society of CPAs (NYSSCPA), where he served on the partnership taxation committee for more than 20 years. He is also the former chairperson of NYSSCPA’s subcommittee on IRS real estate professional regulations. Currently, Sandy serves on the Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute Advisory Board at Baruch College, continuing his long-standing connection to the institution.
